The Fiscal Cliff Mess

Make no mistake, America went over the fiscal cliff, fortunately, we had a rope tied around our waist and enough strength to climb back to the top and pull ourselves up.

The best news that I have been hearing about the approved bill is that some Republicans are pissed off because they didn’t get what they wanted and some Democrats are pissed off because they didn’t get what they wanted either.  A compromise is a settlement of differences in which each side makes concessions. If the majority of the Republicans or the majority of the Democrats had been 100% satisfied by the bill then I would have been worried. Discontent on both sides of the aisle is a good thing because it means that both sides made concessions. Neither side should get everything they want. The purpose of our government is for them to work together and pull the best ideas, or in this case, the ones they were willing to live with, and push the country forward. Bipartisanship is not about agreeing with all of the decisions; it’s about working together to fix the country’s problems.
